Interview of Atticus Finch:

Heck: How did you feel about the court case?

Atticus: I was very upset from the start when Heck Tate asked me to do Tom’s case. I knew Tom wouldn’t be passed as innocent in that court room being a black man. Especially against a white woman like Mayella. However, I have never heard of a court case lasting as long as this one, being a black a white trial. If we all stand up for what is right and we show off this achievement, there may be some changes in racial ordeals.

Heck: Do you think that Tom Robinson was actually an innocent man?

Atticus: Innocent? Of course! The Ewells were always known for there bitterness and racial beliefs. Bob Ewell wouldn’t have went around attempting to kill my children and terrorize the neighbours if he was telling the truth. Known as a patient person with good morals by his family, Tom was a very good man. When answering my questions, Mayella Ewell couldn’t even talk straight. Bob Ewell was the one who beat up his daughter and threatened her to blame it on Tom in order to save her self and in the long run, get rid of the negro.

Heck: You say that Bob Ewell attempted to kill your children? How could he die, being and adult against two kids?

Atticus: Bob had ben into a bit of whiskey that night but still knew what he was doing. My son Jeremy was knocked out and broke his arm, then he tried to stab m daughter, Jean. However, the knife he tried to kill Jeremy with, he had dropped and in his drunken state, tripped over a tree root and landed on his own knife which lead to him dying.

Heck: Are your children well behaved or do they go around looking for trouble

Atticus: Honestly, they do go around looking for trouble, for example Arthur Radley. Always spying on him and trying to contact him. They could really get their selves in trouble if they got caught. But recently Scout met Arthur and now I am sure there will be less sneaking around. Overall, my children are smart enough to get themselves out of a tough situation when it goes too far.

Heck: Is it difficult to be a lawyer and a parent at the same time and keep the balance?

Atticus: Parenting is tough when you’re stuck with a difficult case, such as Tom Robinson’s. I look back a lot to when I had a wife and it made me appreciate it more. She took care of the kids when I was gone, it was very handy. Being a lawyer makes me realize the true problems we have such as prejudice and racial problems.

Interview of Bob Ewell:

Heck: Hello Mr. Ewell, I’d like to ask you a few questions if that’s alright with you?

Bob Ewell: Get on with it.

Heck: Alright, out of everything that was said in the case what offended you the most?

Bob Ewell: Well one thing that made me spit in Atticus’s face was when that man decided to try and acuse me of beating my own daughter, what kind of sick man would do that to a great, caring father?!

Heck: Next question, did you find anything about the trial that you thought was unfair in anyway?

Mr. Ewell: There is nothing in the trial I think that needs to be changed, that nigger is that raped my daughter is getting sentenced to death, there’s nothing more than I can ask for.

Heck: Okay bob, You have recently made some threats to some of the members on Tom’s side, Atticus’s family and Helen Robinson. Do you feel that you made a mistake or regret the threats you’ve made?

Mr. Ewell: The things I have said are not threats, they are promises, I don’t have any regrets for what I have said.

Heck: That’s a little harsh Bob, and consequences may come with your actions. Are you happy with your lifestyle, if so, what do you like about it?

Mr. Ewell: A few things I would change in my life are my drinking habits and the fact I live by all the niggers and the dump.

Heck: Last question Bob, if there was one thing that you want to do right now, what is it?

Mr. Ewell: If there’s anything I want to do right now it’s get revenge and give people what they really deserve.
