Letters to The Editor

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to inform the town about my opinion on Tom Robinson’s fate. I do not think that what the prison guards did was human like. How dare they shoot down a man like that, especially being a cripple. I believe some actions such laws should be set forth as of now.Even Mr. Atticus Finch stated “Remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” Aswell as Mrs. Maudie agreeing, “Mockingbirds do not do one thing but make music for us to enjoy.”We must relate to people such as Tom Robinson to a mockingbird. It was senseless to kill a man like him, someone who devotes his life to make everyone else’s better. He worked hard for his family and helped his friends. With all that aside, I suggest a new law must be created to deteriorate the life sentence of death of a crippled human.

   Sincerely,
          Mr. Underwood

Dear Editor,

This letter is being sent out to remind you about the racism that goes through the town and how people should do something to stop it. Racism is a big problem in this town and people are taking advantage of it. This subject is important to me and my recently deceased husband, who was accused of seducing and raping a white woman but because of him being black. Which therefore lead him to get sent to the chair. I’m worried that the town will never change and soon black people will all die and be killed. If we get lucky then we shouldn’t have this problem anymore.I’m criticizing Mr. Bob Ewell because he is a hypocrite and doesn’t respect or listen to anyone but himself. He thinks that black people don’t deserve a place on this Earth.
In my opinion this is terrible and everybody deserves a say in things and everyone should be treated equally. People not having a say in things should not be allowed and people who do that shouldn’t be tolerated. I think that this should be taken to the Mayor of Maycomb and he should decide or there should be a vote to decide whether everyone should be equal or not. This is the only way that something like this could be finished.

   Sincerely,
         Helen Robinson
